 Idea 1: Rashomon-inspired murder mystery
Rough Planning

Concept: 4 students go on a trip somewhere. some time during the trip, someone dies. The short film opens with the remaining 3 being interrogated. As each corroborates their story, scenes of their perspective are provided for visual aid. However, each is telling only a part of the story, but when all put together the big picture is revealed on what happened etc.

Idea 2: Romance-Thriller

Concept: Starts with acoustic love song, non diegetic fades out and diegetic guitar playing in field with a couple fades up and becomes the scene. 

(One month later, close up shot of him stapling a missing person poster to a pole with the girls face on it. )

 She disappears and he becomes prime suspect.

Concept Two (building on the first concept): A couple is in a holding cell in prison because they got into a physical fight. The policeman behind the camera (his face is not revealed) asks them both to recount the series of events. As they recount the events, it fades into how both of them saw the day as. 

SCENE 1: Cameraman interrogates man. Man starts talking about what happened
Scene 2: shows what happened from his perspective
Scene 3: switches to the woman. cameraman interrogates her
scene 4: SHOWS what happened from her perspective

Overlay their voices in the interrogation with how they remember the day.

As he talks, zoom of a couple in a field singing, somehow moves to a car at night and there is a huge argument she goes inside and he chases and pulls her.

- The cool colour tone is something we are looking to replicate.

Ideas for ending

• Court scene and punishment
• Messy breakup 
• she breaks up with him at the end of the day, he did Not see it coming. as she leaves, he tries to pull her back 'u have to explain' etc, and she pulls away or something and it escalates into violence. 
• they tell exaggerated versions of what happened
• Cop saying they have a lot to look into
• Couples therapy saying see you next week

• Idea 3: Romance
• Concept: Super artsy and incredible decor and lighting seen through the eyes of someone who wishes they were in the couple
• TITLE SCREEN: Notebook page with the title digitally edited on in a handwritten font
• From the eyes of a guy who is basically in love with this girl that already has a boyfriend. We see him obsessing etc.
• POSSIBLE ENDING: She shows up at his door in the middle of the night crying. 'He broke up with me.' then we see the camera man for the first time through her eyes, and he also has that same glow that he sees her with. 
• we see his journal at the end - full circle
  POSSIBLE ENDING 2: Handwritten page Chapter 2 and the book closes or something. 
• (the nerd is into film cameras and candid art and he films snippets of her without her knowing, and he portrays her with a glow and a beauty.)

Further Development:

• The boy main character is autistic or neurodivergent. The female love interest may have depression or something of that sort - maybe bipolarity.
